Contessa Foods

RGA was engaged by Dedeaux Properties in 2005 to manage and prepared design and construction documents for this 111,000 sf Build-To-Suit project for Contessa Foods.  The buildings was to include areas for food preparation, processing, packaging, storage, and shipping, as well as 15,000 sf of support offices.  The project required extensive coordination with M.E.P., Refrigeration, and Fire Protection engineers to comply with Health Department and USDA requirements.  In addition, the project was designed and certified as first LEED® Gold frozen food processing facility in the country.  Sustainable features solar carports at auto parking areas, and a state-of-the-art solar panel system embedded into a single ply PVC roof membrane that covered more than 90% of the roof area.  Also included were high efficiency mechanical systems, process heat recovery systems, low water use plumbing fixtures, and high performance glazing and insulation.  The project was completed in 2007 by Fullmer Construction for approximately $11 million.
